Saint Paul, MN – On Thursday, November 1, faith and community leaders will join Minnesotans United for All Families to kick off the “Minnesota Votes No” statewide tour to help get out the vote against the proposed constitutional amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian couples in Minnesota.

On Thursday evening, Mayor R.T. Rybak will attend as more than 150 clergy from dozens of denominations from across Minnesota will gather at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis on Thursday as they lead worship for a congregation of over 1,000 in support of all families across the state and in opposition to the amendment which would limit the freedom to marry for committed same-sex couples.

The Minnesota Votes No tour will continue Friday morning in Winona and travel throughout the state, stopping at action centers along the way working to get out the vote in the days before the election. Around 15,000 volunteers are participating in more than 30 action centers running 12-14 hours each day around the state, ensuring all Minnesotans who believe in freedom and fairness get out to the polls on Election Day.

Get out the vote efforts began Tuesday. Between then and Election Day, Minnesotans United plans to reach out to one million Minnesotans through phone calls and door knocking. On Election Day alone, Minnesotans United and its volunteers will make more than 200,000 calls and knock on more than 150,000 doors.
