October 30, 2012 – St. Paul, MN – With just a week until Election Day, Minnesotans United for All Families released its latest financial report, boasting more than 62,000 individual donors to the efforts to defeat the amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for gays and lesbians in Minnesota.

The report filed tonight shows $2,755,972 raised since the last report in September coming from more than 25,000 individual donors, with 95 percent of donors from within Minnesota. The campaign reported $279,265 in in-kind contributions, for a total of $3,041,536 raised during the period.

“We continue to see that Minnesotans are personally investing in this campaign because they know that this amendment limits a basic freedom for some Minnesotans just because of who they are,” said Richard Carlbom, Campaign Manager for Minnesotans United. “When Minnesotans measure this vote against their values of freedom and fairness, of treating others as they would want to be treated, they realize this amendment just doesn’t measure up and that voting no is how they practice those values.”

This report brings the campaign total contributions raised to $9,946,115 from 62,175 donors – nearly 92 percent from within the state – and $1,281,859 in in-kind contributions.

“The special interests pushing this amendment are flooding the airwaves with misleading and deceptive claims to distract from the issue at hand,” continued Carlbom. “But as we enter the final days of this campaign, we will continue to remind Minnesotans what is really at stake – and that’s whether we’re going to vote, in 2012, to limit the freedom to marry for one group of people.”

Minnesotans United for All Families is the official campaign to defeat the proposed amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in Minnesota.
